When you join Atom Grants, we automatically create your eligibility profile by:

* Gathering publicly available information about your research and career

* Organizing this information into key sections like Summary, Current Position, and Degrees, Awards

This automated process ensures you have a comprehensive starting profile without manual data entry.

Your eligibility profile typically includes:

* **Current Position**: Your present role, institution, and responsibilities
* **Degrees**: Academic qualifications and educational background

The most convenient way to update your profile is through our AI assistant:

1. **Access the AI input box** at the bottom of your profile page
2. **Ask specific questions** like:
   * "Update my current position to include my new role as Department Head"
   * "Add my recent PhD in Environmental Science from Stanford"
   * "Search for and add my latest publications from 2024"
   * "Find information about my NSF fellowship and add it to my profile"
3. **Let Atom AI search** for additional public information to enhance your profile
4. **Review the updates** and confirm they're accurate

#### **Uploading Documents for AI Extraction**

You can also update your profile by uploading documents directly to the AI assistant. This feature allows Atom to automatically extract relevant information from your existing materials.

**Supported Document Types**

The AI assistant can process:

* CVs and resumes
* NIH biosketches
* NSF biosketches
* Research papers and publications
* Grant applications and award letters

**How to Upload Documents**

1. 2. Select the PDF document you want to upload
3. Add an optional instruction such as:
   * "Extract my education history from this CV"
   * "Add the publications from this biosketch to my profile"
   * "Update my profile with all relevant information from this document"
4. The AI will analyze the document and suggest updates to your profile
5. Review the extracted information and confirm the changes

1. Click the **Edit button** in the top right of your profile
2. Make direct inline edits to any section
3. Save your changes when complete
